Packing for The Jungle:Your packing list should be pretty simple. Life in the jungle is very casual and you won't need a lot of clothing. The weather is always warm so we recommend light, fast drying items. We normally live in our bathing suits so we suggest you bring at least a couple of them. We also suggest that you do bring one pair of lightweight pants and one lightweight long sleeve shirt. For footwear we recommend waterproof sandals or tevas. Our favorite for this area are Crocs. Other than that you should pack a good pair of tennis shoes or lightweight hiking shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Make sure you also bring plenty of your other personal toiletries. We do supply hand soap in the bathrooms.

There are a couple of options you have when coming to Casa Tres Peces. First you will need an International flight into the San Jose airport. After that you may choose to fly to Puerto Jiménez or to drive. The drive from San Jose will take from 8-10 hours. We recommend flying if you don't have a lot of time so you can enjoy more time in our area.
Flying to Puerto Jiménez:You will need to book a flight on SANSA or NATURE AIR from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez. This flight takes around 45 minutes.
SANSA flights leaves from the Sansa terminal at the Juan Santamaria International Airport where the international flights land. NATURE AIR flights leave from Tobias Bolanos Airport, which is about a 15-minute taxi ride from the international airport. We recommend that you reserve this flight ahead of time. The flights are available from early morning to early afternoon and in high season there are flights up until 4:30 p.m. Our experience and that of many guests, is that Nature Air is consistently more reliable, punctual and professionally run and we think that it is well worth the slightly higher fare.
You will need to arrive at the Sansa or Nature Air terminals at least a half-hour before the flight. If your international flight arrives too late to connect in one day, we can suggest some hotels in the San Jose area. Please keep in mind that there is a baggage restriction of 25 pounds (11 kg) per person and a charge for any additional weight. When you arrive in Puerto Jimenez we will arrange to have a taxi waiting to take you shopping and to Casa Tres Peces. You can also rent a car in Puerto Jimenez if you would like more freedom during your stay. We can also help arrange that for you.
Driving:If you want to take the adventurous Costa Rican highway system, we recommend renting a car or hiring a taxi to bring you to Matapalo. The roads can be pretty bumpy and unkempt so it is important that you not be in a hurry. This is a wonderful way to see the beautiful countryside if you have the time and a relaxed schedule. We can help you arrange renting a car or hiring a taxi.
